SAN ANT0NIO – Jose Luis Carbonell, chair of the ScottHulse business section and international practice group, was a guest speaker and roundtable participant at How to Do Business in Texas, a two-day seminar presented for a delegation of business executives from Brazil.
Mr. Carbonell’s presentation was “How to Start a Business: Legal Structures in the United States.” The event included an array of presentations and roundtable discussions designed to familiarize Brazilian businesses with the opportunities and requirements of conducting business in Texas. Other topics included tax compliance, banking, immigration, marketing, and labor force selection and training.
Presented by the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) Institute for Economic Development and the South-West Texas Border Small Business Development Center Network, the seminar was held October 31 and November 1 at UTSA’s downtown campus. ScottHulse was a co-sponsor of the event, which also helped to spotlight the UTSA International Business Accelerator.
Mr. Carbonell’s practice encompasses international and cross-border business; export control and import control; mergers and acquisitions; immigration; corporate and securities; aerospace, defense, and government contracts; manufacturing; and real estate.
